ASM Hydrasynth Sound Bank Vol. 2 (64 patches)

The Synth Universe Sound Bank Volume 2 is a bank of 64 patches for Hydrasynth. These are single patches that will load into all Hydrasynth models (Keyboard, Desktop, Explorer and Deluxe).

This bank continues from Volume 1 and contains a wide variety of sounds including pads, choirs, bells, brass, vintage analog, keys, basses, polysynths, strings, sines, leads, FM, wavetable, ambient, soundscapes, and FX. The sounds are complementary to Volume 1 and include many new pads, timbres and sonic textures to complete the set.

If you have not watched the video demos, view here (patches 1 - 32) and here (patches 33 - 64).

The sounds encompass the needs of recording and performing musicians, while also pushing the boundaries of what a polysynth is capable of; for instance, using multiple modulations to create textures usually only obtained on modular synths.  A real strength of the Hydrasynth is the wide range of timbres it can produce, and the bank reflects this with sounds from warm and smooth to edgy, strident and complex.

As a purely digital synth, the Hydrasynth has surprised in its ability to create warm and punchy sounds with vintage character, reminiscent of the virtual analog synths that were common in the late 1980s and early 1990s.  A number of these sounds are included in this sound bank and they contrast well with the bright digital and FM patches.

A lot of time, creativity and care have gone into designing these sounds over several years. Each of them has a reason for being and a purpose.  Working with the Hydrasynth developing and playing these patches has inspired more musical ideas and compositions than any other synth I own.  That's probably the best compliment I can give - and I hope these sounds will do the same for you.

Please watch the videos that accompany this sound bank: all of the patches are demonstrated, with no external audio processing applied so you can hear the sounds for yourself.

Ensure you use the latest firmware and you will need Hydrasynth Manager (downloadable from the ASM website) to load the sounds into your Hydrasynth. The Hydrasynth bank file is in the .hydra format.  A 'Read me' document is included with the sound bank for more information on installation and getting the most from the sounds.
